La Porte, IN – The Kiwanis Club of La Porte announced the 76th Annual 4th of July Parade will take place on Monday, July 4 beginning at 10 a.m. preceded by the Annual Run for Riley and the recently added Kiwanis Kids Korner. The parade will follow the traditional route, traveling westward down  Lincolnway from Tipton St. to Andrew Ave. in uptown La Porte. 

Any interested community members and organizations are welcome to submit an entry application to enter a unit in the parade. 

A dedicated website, http://Kiwanis4thofJulyParade.org will be launched in mid-April and will contain new and improved entry forms, 2022 sponsorship opportunities, and general parade information. 

Parade units are encouraged to decorate to the theme “America Proud. La Porte Proud.” and construct parade floats for spectators to enjoy. An application fee of $50 is due at the time of submission for community entries and $250 for corporate entries. 

Club President Drummond Osborn said the Kiwanis Club of La Porte is honored to again host this long-standing and cherished tradition; The club is energized by the success of last year’s parade.  

“Volunteers and sponsors made our 1st parade event a great experience. It served not only as an event enjoyed by tens of thousands on parade day but raised funds to locally support the Kiwanis mission of ‘improving the world, one child and one community at a time,’” Osborn said. 

Kiwanian and long-time parade organizer Dawn Zigler said, “We are always looking for great floats  celebrating our theme, vintage vehicles with drivers decked out in outfits matching the vehicle era,  marching bands, and unique novelty entries.”
